About us

A roofing firm small enough to care, established enough to deliver.

Fifteen years of climbing Malaysian roofs has taught us one thing: most problems start with a shortcut someone else took. We try to be the people who do not take shortcuts.

Our story

Started with one ladder and a stubborn refusal to over-promise

Hexapod Roofing opened for business in 2009 from a single-storey shophouse in Section 14, Petaling Jaya. Our founder, Ahmad Razif, had spent eight years working on commercial roof installations across the region and was frustrated by how often residential customers were treated as an afterthought.

The first year was just Ahmad and his cousin Faizal, doing repairs that bigger firms would not bother with. Word of mouth in PJ neighbourhoods grew steadily. By 2014 we had hired our first full-time apprentices; by 2019 we were CIDB Grade G4 certified and handling our first multi-block condominium project in Mont Kiara.

We have deliberately stayed under twenty people. Larger means more meetings, more layers, more chances for the standard to slip. Smaller means the person who quotes is still the person who shows up.

What we believe

Four convictions that shape every site we run

None of these are particularly clever. They are simply the things we have refused to compromise on since the beginning.

A

Diagnose before quoting

A leak is a symptom. We climb up, find the actual cause, and quote the cause — even if it is more expensive to explain than to ignore.

B

Use the right material, not the cheapest

Colorbond, AZ150 galvanised steel, fully-bonded sarking. We are happy to explain the price difference and let you choose.

C

Document everything

Before-and-after photographs, daily site logs, written warranty terms. If the project went well, the paperwork should prove it.

D

Stay easy to reach

One WhatsApp number, one email inbox, one office phone. No automated menus, no offshore call centres, no read receipts that never get a reply.

Our trade

What 1,420 completed roofs has taught us

Most failing roofs in the Klang Valley are not failing because the tiles or sheets are bad. They are failing because of three things nobody photographs: flashings cut too short, ridge capping bedded with the wrong mortar mix, and ventilation gaps closed off by an over-enthusiastic painter.

That is why our crew leaders all spend at least six months on repair work before being allowed to lead a full replacement. You have to see the failure modes up close before you are trusted to design against them.

  • Average crew tenure: 6.4 years
  • Site safety incidents per 100 jobs: 0.3
  • Repeat-customer rate (5 years +): 41 %
  • Insurance-claim sign-off rate: 96 %
